There were celebrations in Hurst Green this week when our volunteers visited the Select Convenience store to collect a huge cheque to bolster our coffers.
Led by store manager, Richard Connolly, the team at Select Convenience had worked very hard through their busy Christmas period to hold a charity raffle. The grand draw took place on 20th December with a tombola and a number of other fundraising stalls.
Richard and his team were pleased and proud to hand St Silvan’s Charity £1,141.31 raised from their endeavours.

As a store at the heart of the community in Hurst Green, the staff were keen to make sure their donation would benefit the people around them. Their new partnership with St Silvan’s is a great way for everyone to be certain this works.
It’s not just St Silvan’s who are shouting the praises of this Select Convenience store though – Richard Connolly has just been awarded the accolade of Manager of the Year for 2019 (from some 800 stores nationwide!) by parent company Bestway Retail.
Sean O’Reilly is one of the volunteers with St Silvan’s Charity. He said: ‘We’re incredibly grateful for this generous donation and for the ongoing support from the staff and customers at this busy store. As shown by his recent award, Richard goes above and beyond to serve his community. The kindness of people here looking out for others is remarkable.’
Select Convenience is in Pollards Oak Road, Hurst Green.
