Local legends, One Eyed Jack are well and truly back. This local band is packed with musical talent and we're particularly pleased they've picked St Silvan's as the charity to benefit from a very special gig on 15th February.
It's the 'Ball in the Hall' and you'll need to be quick, because tickets are selling fast! The evening isn't just about musical entertainment - there's a superb bar service (with every gin under the sun) from our friends at Hops and Bubbles, and we'll have a few other additional bits of fun for you too.
Details on the poster here. Please grab your tickets sooner rather than later as numbers are limited. We look forward to seeing you there!
We've brought our AGM forward now so it closely follows the end of our financial year. Here's our Chairman's Report and our Treasurer's Report for your perusal.
We've adopted a new set of metrics (p5 of Treasury report) to help with our governance and to make sure that we're running our charity in the way that makes the most of our resources. Your feedback is always welcome. Want to talk to us? firstname.lastname@example.org
Fortified by GREAT value drinks and a delicious curry, a full house enjoyed a night that tested the little grey cells, all in aid of St Silvan's Charity. We raised over £750 thanks to the generosity of our teams in buying raffle tickets, entry fees and donations.
Winners were 'The Seven Deadly Sins'. Congratulations to them and our thanks to everyone for coming. Particular thanks to our quizmaster Alex, and to Holland Sports & Social Club for hosting us and for providing the beautiful curry for free.
From time to time everyone needs a little refresh and reminder. We're here to help, but we're pretty sure that some key local people (councillors, doctors, community nurses and care workers, local authorities, teachers, vicars...) aren't aware of what we could offer people in need in the community.
Please help us spread the word by copying, printing and sharing this poster with your contacts. Thank you!
We all hate boring old meetings, so our AGM always runs with a difference. It's in the pub, there's food and beer involved and each year (whilst ensuring all the proper business gets done) we try to move onto chat and fun stuff more quickly than ever.
Please join us on Wednesday 21st November at The Brickmaker's Arms on Tandridge Lane (formerly The Griffin).
Turn your unwanted or unused items into glorious cash on Saturday 3rd November. All you need to do is take a table at our first ever Autumn Tabletop Sale!
For a donation of just £10 to our little charity you (together with a group of friends perhaps?) could have a table to sell your wares whilst enjoying the comfort and hospitable surroundings of The Diamond Inn.
From 11am - 2pm visitors are welcome to come and browse and buy. Landlady Julie will be offering delicious breakfast treats and there's plenty of tea and coffee. Make a day of it and stay on at the pub to enjoy the Autumn International rugby. It's England v South Africa at 3pm.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
Please note - tables must be pre-booked. Call 01883 716040 for more info.
This Easter we thought we'd do something a bit special. We've teamed up with two fantastic local hostelries - The Haycutter and The Diamond, to organise children's egg hunts and other fun in aid of a great project cause.
St Stephens School in South Godstone is within our beneficiary area. The school has a unit for visually impaired children and has a number of young people with additional needs. The school would like to purchase two giant Flemish rabbits. They're so soft and docile that they'll be perfect as entertainment, therapy and reward for the pupils at the school.
But - we need to buy them, house them, insure them and equip them with everything from a wheelbarrow to food bowls. And being giant rabbits, they need GIANT accommodation! These definitely aren't ordinary bunnies. Can you help?
Come along to The Haycutter in Broadham Green on Easter Sunday. Egg hunting is at 11.30am and 2.30pm. Then from 4pm The Diamond in Hurst Green has a raffle, egg hunt for children and special 'unloc...
It's quiz time again! Steve and Nicky are the very accommodating landlord and landlady at the Barley Mow in Tandridge Village. They've agreed to host our quiz again this year, with chef Frankie doing the honours to make us an absolutely awesome curry.
Our quizmaster, Owen Evans, is back too. With the promise of fresh jokes. And our Secretary, Emma, has promised the raffle to end all raffles...
So all we need now is our teams. BOOK AHEAD, please. We had to get garden furniture in last year to try and fit everyone in, so if we know you're coming then you stand a chance of a comfy seat!
Teams of 6, £8 a head to include chicken or veggie curry.
Thanks to everyone who came and shot or came and helped at our clay shoot on 17th September. It was a great day, the weather stayed fine and there was plenty of competition!
Massive congratulations to Billy Greenwood who won the high gun with an incredible 48 out of 50, and who takes home £50. Will Evans shoot a 45/50 and won the colts and Sharon Rose shoot a 27/50 winning the ladies. They both won a free round at Keston.
With final confirmation to follow, it looks as though around £800 profit was made for St Silvans. Thank you!
Please remember our sponsors when you're looking for a supplier or contractor for your home or business. Without them we can't run this event.
